The Page of Mild Shame

Think of this as a review site, where we review what we consider to be bad customers. Other merchants: We think you should think twice before doing business with these individuals. But that's just our opinion.

Dishonored Payments

Back when people paid for most purchases by check, merchants often pinned up returned checks for others to see. People don't pay by check anymore, but people still fail to pay for things they purchase. This is a list of Suburban Express customers who have given us payments which ultimately were not honored. Some people might call these folks deadbeats, but we're too polite do to that.

Below is a list of passengers who were slimy enough to reverse a credit card charge, but who eventually made good on their debt. Return to Page of Shame.

Fare Cheaters

We take a very dim view of people who alter tickets, try to cheat us by passing off a cheap ticket for an expensive ride, and so forth. Here are a few people who we consider "Fare Cheaters". You should avoid engaging in business transactions with these people, in our opinion. Below is a list of passengers who cheated Suburban Express but eventually made good by paying the fare they owed.

Kevin Thompson File
Passenger used an invalid ticket to ride. Pulled
a fast one on us. Banned. If we recall correctly,
loading personnel attempted to remove passenger
from bus, but passenger did not come forward
when called. Personnel declined to delay bus to
remove passenger, which does not relieve passenger
of liability for his actions. Customer has paid
for his ticket plus $25 minimum collection fee.
See Kevin Thompson file pdf, linked above.
Contrary to false claims published by Olivia
Welshans, there is no such thing as a $50 fine.
More sloppy reporting by the dying student
newspaper, Daily Illini, and another young,
immature reporter.

Banned

Sometimes, customers do ridiculous things which get them banned. Cutting off a bus so you can get on will get you banned every time. Delaying a bus will get you banned. And so on. Here is a list of people who have been permanently banned for various reasons:

There's no way off this list. Once you're banned, you're banned.

Jeremy Leval, Alain Leval, and the entire Leval family

unpleasant, if not insane, people and we do not want
them anywhere near our buses or offices.
